Nintendo’s eShop catalogue is shaping up to become an excellent base for independent developers and, with the wealth of games available, Nintendo has seemingly approved cross-platform play between other consoles. According to Ripstone’s creative director Phil Gaskell, Nintendo said that it wouldn’t be a problem for Pure Chess – released later this year for Wii U and 3DS – to incorporate cross-platform multiplayer. Currently, Pure Chess is available for smartphones, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, so if you’re looking to purchase the game on a Nintendo console, you could have the option to play against those on Android or iOS.
