Reggie Explains Why Nintendo Chose To Have A Prerecorded Event For E3 2014

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has explained why Nintendo decided to host a pre-recorded event for E3 rather than a stage conference. Reggie says that one of the biggest challenges is that many of their developers are Japanese, so having them explain things without subtitles can be challenging. Reggie went on to say that the whole environment of E3 has changed and people want lots of entertainment value, which they delivered in the video.

“The environment is completely changed. More and more people are looking to tune in to an event; more and more people are looking for the full entertainment value of an event.”

“Couple that with the fact that so [many] of our developers are Japanese, so having them explain the game directly is a little bit more challenging. We can do it in this type of environment,” he said, referring to a live show with a website…
