NeoGaf member Hero of Legend has discovered that the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins was actually developed by Human Head Studios. Prey 2 was originally meant to be developed by Human Head Studios, but was subsequently cancelled by the team. The latest Batman adventure hasn’t gone down as well as the previous games in the series, but it still has an average score of seventy-nine for the Xbox 360 version on Metacritic. Sadly, it’s already been announced that the Wii U version of the game is lacking multiplayer.

In a new discussion with Kotaku, Shigeru Miyamoto discussed the lack of online multiplayer in Super Mario 3D World. While Miyamoto admitted that online multiplayer is possible for Nintendo achieve, and while other games like Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus: Uprising have included the feature, Miyamoto contended that it “simply wasn’t the focus” for Nintendo with 3D World. He went on to explain that for the Mario series, Nintendo is currently interested in focusing on the multiplayer experience with people in the same room.

It is difficult to say how the inclusion of online multiplayer could have affected sales of the game, but given how many gamers were upset when Nintendo announced the mode would be missing, it seems like the company is losing out on potential console sales for the fast-sinking Wii U. Online gaming publication Eurogamer has joined EDGE magazine in saying that the Wii U is the best choice of console this Christmas. The publication points to Super Mario 3D World as a prime reason to own the struggling console along with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Pikmin 3. Whether these opinion pieces will be enough to change the fortunes of the failing console once the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch remains to be seen. Still, it’s certainly nice to have some good coverage for once.

Inject a little Tokyo EAD magic into that back catalogue and it’s hard to deny that the Wii U’s line-up eclipses those of the Xbox One and PS4 – and so it should after its lengthy headstart. Is it enough to turn the tide, though? That’s a harder ask, but there are at least signs that Nintendo’s beginning to push…
