Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has announced that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be released on February 21st. Fils-Aime has also confirmed that Cranky Kong is a playable character in the upcoming Wii U platformer. Similar to how Scrooge McDuck uses his cane as a weapon in DuckTales, Cranky Kong can use his cane to bounce and attack enemies, including baddies with sharp tops.

A Microsoft lançou recentemente o Windows Blue, agora conhecido como Windows 8.1, e está terminando os trabalhos no Windows Phone Blue, que chegará aos usuários no próximo ano. O que vem depois? De acordo com as fontes de Mary Jo Foley, jornalista que cobre os passos da Microsoft há anos, a próxima onda de atualizações do Windows tem codinome Threshold e está planejada para 2015.

 Os contatos de Mary Jo Foley afirmam que o vice-presidente executivo da Microsoft, Terry Myerson, citou o codinome Threshold em email enviado recentemente aos funcionários. Essa onda de atualizações envolverá, além do Windows para desktops, o Windows Phone e o Xbox One. A ideia, pelo menos neste início de planejamento, é que as três plataformas “compartilhem mais elementos em comum”.

I live in that wide swath of the country that was hit by arctic storm Cleon. Funny, I didn’t know that they named winter storms, but I guess they do. Anyway, I have been housebound since prepping Wednesday night. I worked from home as a layer of ice blanketed the roads on Thursday. By the end of the day I thought the storm might be a bust – just some sleet and freezing rain.
