The day before Google’s(s goog) annual developer conference, Google Glass is getting a lot of improvements. First, although Glass receives subtle hardware tweaks from time to time, its Google Plus page has announced a bump from 1GB to 2GB of RAM and a slightly bigger battery, among “several [other] hardware updates.” Second, there are twelve new Glassware apps available for download, including Shazam, Duolingo, and other big names. A complete list is here. There’s also a general software update that brings a viewfinder to the device’s camera function. Google’s I/O conference may be the largest collection of Glass Explorers ever assembled, but we’re not expecting a ton of Glass announcements. However, there are three Glass-centered sessions scheduled for Thursday.

Google cleans up Verizon’s Chromebook Pixel mess, offering customers $150 credits
Verizon(s vz) may not be honoring its commitment to provide free baseline LTE connectivity to the Chromebook Pixel, but Google is trying to make up for the bad behavior of its carrier partner. Google told ComputerWorld that it would offer $150 credits to customers that bought their Chromebook’s under the original LTE Pixel promotion.
As Gigaom’s Kevin Tofel wrote on Monday, many Pixel buyers were told they would get either two or three years of free 4G access from Verizon by opting for the more expensive LTE version of the Chromebook. The deal was for only 100 MB a month of access, which isn’t much, but it’s enough for emergency purposes. When Verizon decided to stop supporting the free plan many customers understandably felt jilted.
A Google spokesperson told ComputerWorld’s JR Raphael that customers can contact the Google Play hardware support center to initiate the credit, which will come in…

Check Out Link’s Alternative Costume In Super Smash Bros Wii U
Super Smash Bros designer Masahiro Sakurai has given us a glimpse at Link’s alternative costume in the Wii U version of the game. The image above shows Link in his traditional Skyward Sword clothing. It’s a new design for Link and isn’t a simple colour change for the character. The Wii U version of the game launches this winter.
Pic of the day. Here’s Link in an outfit based on his ordinary clothes in Skyward Sword! The art style looks a little different, but the actual clothing model is still his usual tunic.

Oculus to buy Carbon Design, the firm behind Xbox 360 controller
In the ’90s, virtual reality looked like this:
Today, it is much sleeker, lighter and, well, actually functional. And it could soon look even better: Oculus acquired Carbon Design on Tuesday, which means the team behind the Xbox 360 controller and the original Kinect could be behind the design of the company’s virtual reality headset.
The purchase price has not been disclosed, but the companies plan to close the deal by the end of the summer. Carbon Design’s team will remain in Seattle.
Oculus said it has been working with Carbon Design for nearly a year on upcoming projects.
