Toy maker Jazwares revealed at the Nuremberg toy fair that Sega is busy developing a brand new Sonic game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U for 2015. Sega still has a Sonic game in production for Nintendo platforms, so it’s unknown at this point whether the exclusivity still holds. Either way, the new Sonic game will be coming to the three platforms sometime during 2015.

How to build a hybrid SaaS API management strategy
If you’re trying to combine both a legacy and a cloud deployment strategy without having to do everything twice a hybrid strategy might offer the best of both worlds. That’s we discussed in our first post API Management – Anyway you want it!.
In that post, we discussed the different API deployment models as well as the need to understand the components of API management, your target audience and your overall corporate IT strategy. There was a tremendous readership and positive comments on the article. (Thanks for that!). But, there seem to be a little confusion about one particular deployment model we discussed – the Hybrid (SaaS) model. We heard from a number of people asking for more clarity on this model. So here it is.
Meet Hybrid SaaS
A good definition of Hybrid SaaS would be deploy the software, as a SaaS service and/or as on-premises solution, make…

AT&T cuts family rate plan prices, makes them simpler too
Is AT&T(s t) feeling heat from T-Mobile’s(s tmus) “un-carrier” moves? I think so, but you be the judge: AT&T just announced new family plans that are both simpler to understand and less expensive. The carrier introduced the new plans on Saturday, saying they’re available starting today.
What makes these more simple? Instead of using a chart to determine costs based on the type of device being added to the existing mobile share plans, new and current AT&T customers simply choose the number of smartphones on the plan. Two smartphones get unlimited talk, texting and 10 GB of monthly data for $130. Each additional smartphone added to the plan raises the price by $15; all smartphones on the plan share the 10 GB.
That’s a money saver for me as we have four smartphones on an existing mobile share plan. We collectively get 6 GB of data to share and…

Trouble on the fringes: How the cloud will commoditize the upper middle class
During the Great Recession of 2008, companies looked to slash costs in every area possible. Organizational headcount bore the brunt of this cost cutting, with over 7.9 million jobs lost, many to never return.
A recent three-part AP report analyzed employment data from 20 countries, and several industries, and found that technology is replacing workers in both established companies as well as small businesses. The report found that the most vulnerable workers were those that followed well-defined procedures that were executed on a repeated basis. Jobs such as factory and warehouse workers, paralegals, payroll administrators, office assistants, and retail salespeople are but a few of the repetitive jobs that developers can write code for.
While eliminating repetitive middle-class jobs through software automation seems to be inevitable, a dire future also lies in wait for many upper middle-class jobs requiring higher cognitive skills. An increasing commoditization of their skillset will…

A tendência é…

Sony Says Nintendo’s Decline “Could Be Detrimental To The Market”
PlayStation UK Managing Director Fergal Gara has admitted that the decline of Nintendo could ultimately be detrimental to the video game market. Gara says that Nintendo successfully appeals to the younger consumer group that Sony is trying to go after with titles such as Knack and says there would be a huge gap in the market.
“[The decline of Nintendo] could be detrimental to the market, unless people like us raise our game and help tap into the younger consumer group that they serve rather well. That is the challenge to us. We need to bring maybe more family-friendly, more casual experiences into the market. I think there’s a big market segment there that we should take the challenge to engage and I see lots of potential to do that.”
“The DS family was the bestselling format last year, despite the stellar sales of the PS4 for the last four or five weeks, it…

Tiffany Jones, autora do relatório…
