There is no doubt that school and college life is far better than the professional life. You have small adventures, not so threatening risks and even punishments give you joy at the end of the day. School life has many memories; those memories include playing with your classmates, teasing your teachers, your first crush and also the exams. Exams can be a memory if you have passed them with some flying colors or if you have cheated on them as cheating is such a fun at school and quite an obvious part of everyone’s school life. An open invitation to 60 Minutes to discuss energy
This past Sunday, 60 Minutes, the magazine news show of CBS, ran a segment entitled, The Cleantech Crash. The segment left viewers with the message that US taxpayers have invested in a number of clean tech flops (including Solyndra), and that Chinese companies are scooping up the defunct US companies as vulture capitalists.
Case in point is this quote from the segment:
Pin Ni and his autoparts company Wanxiang have made six big investments in American Cleantech so far, including buying A123, another electric car battery startup that lost over 130 million tax dollars.
The segment was a mash-up of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, like Vinod Khosla, and the energy sector. While Vinod Khosla is one of the great investors and entrepreneurs of our time, the real success in energy is not coming from new inventions. That is worth repeating. Real success in energy is not coming from new inventions.

Yahoo buys Aviate, focuses on context and content on mobiles
The reinvention of Yahoo continues and it’s all about surfacing content on mobiles. The comany announced several app and digital initiatives Tuesday at CES including the purchase of Aviate, a contextual-based mobile app. Yahoo is also creating digital magazines and aims to help information overload through a new Yahoo News Digest app for mobiles.
Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer introduced the initiatives with a clear emphasis on mobiles. All of the most-used mobile activities — think mail, video, photos, news and weather — are NOW the pillars of Yahoo. Of course, there’s the potential for information overload, so Yahoo is introducing a new Yahoo News Digest application.
The app provides a news summary twice a day: morning and evening. Content comes from various sources and is powered by Summly, which Yahoo purchased last year. In addition to the news, readers can see related “atoms”: videos, infographics, relevant Tweets…

Aereo gets another $34M, promises 15 markets by March
Aereo, the startup service that is putting the TV industry’s nose out of joint with its $8/month streaming package, announced on Tuesday that it has received a major new funding round to pursue further expansion.
In a press release, Aereo stated that it intends to use the new $34 million investment to pursue “rapid nationwide expansion and increased investments in hiring and technology.” The money comes by way of Barry Diller’s IAC, Gordon Crawford and Himalaya Capital Management; the Series C round adds to the more than $58 million the Brooklyn-based startup has already received.
The company also pledged that it would expand from 10 to 15 markets by the end of the quarter. It already expanded significantly in 2013, but fell short of the 22 cities it said it would reach by the end of the year.
The company is currently locked in a high stakes legal battle with all…

The Xbox One has sold 3 million consoles from November 22nd through December 31st which is a period of about 5.5 weeks.
However, the site notes that Nintendo has only provided sales figures from October when they announced 3.91 million Wii U’s were sold worldwide. Interestingly, estimates from the November and December sales periods range from 4.5 million to 5.2 million total. We won’t get official numbers until the investors meeting this month. Here’s what IGN had to say about the launches:
IGN: We can draw three real conclusions from these stats:
1) The Wii U is in real trouble.
Both Sony and Microsoft nearly erased Nintendo’s year-long lead in a matter of weeks. Both…
