Nintendo centric developers Shin’en have said in a recent interview that they will be sharing more information about the recently revealed Fast Racing Neo sometime next year. We currently know very little about the game, so it will be great to finally get some footage and information.

Q: When can we expect to see the first footage or information on Fast Racing Neo? Is there any tid-bits of info you could give us right now?

In 2014. We currently optimize the local multiplayer part and it seems as we can go far beyond what we have done previously.

Thanks, Mike

The hills of the Ozarks are a wet place. Rain water becomes spring water or ground water as it passes through our limestone karst topography. As it gets colder out the bluffs leach out this water in the form of icicles. On the ground below the bluffs the water trapped inside the stalks of tall plants expands. This ice takes on amazing forms – frost flowers appear at the bases of these plants. They appear on mornings where the temps are below freezing and disappear as the temperature rises.

It’s been unseasonably cold for a few days. I have been lighting a fire most evenings to warm up the old Stonehouse. This kind of sustained cold is more common in January or February. This morning when I took a look at the forecast I thought that even though it’s a couple of months early, the conditions were right. I packed…

The highly respected hair stylist, Celso Kamura of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has chosen Izabel Goulart to illustrate the pages of the next edition of his own quarterly magazine Connection C.Kamura, which has an exclusive circulation among hair and beauty stylists. The feature, entitled Power Play, was photographed by Pascoal Rodriguez and styling was by Anna Laura Villega and Cintya Misobuchi. Kamura said “I wanted to show another version of Izabel, who is already known for her loose, wavy and bulky hair. Gorgeous as she is, she can also be sexy with an alternative colour shade and style”.  He loved the result, he said.

Em um novo esforço para o combate efetivo de crimes na internet, a Microsoft anunciou nessa semana a abertura do Centro de Combate aos Crimes Cibernéticos Microsoft em seu campus de Redmond, nos Estados Unidos. Recent images that have appeared on NeoGAF suggest that Nintendo has greatly increased its presence at US retailer Toys R Us. You can see from the photos provided here that there’s plenty of Nintendo merchandise to be found at the popular retail outlet. So if you’re looking to check out what Nintendo has to offer this holiday season then it’s well worth visiting your local Toys R Us store to get hands on with some of the big games this Christmas.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has promised on GameTrailers that the Wii U won’t see the same kind of software drought that plagued the Wii U during the first half of 2013. Reggie admitted that Nintendo had made a mistake, but they hope to rectify that in 2014 with a steady flow of software for the format.

“The way we’re going to be different is, we’re gonna certainly have a steadier pace of games – both for Wii U and for 3DS.”

“The marketing activity is going to be constant throughout the entire year. You tease me a little bit that ‘boy the first half [of 2013] was a little quiet,’ and y’know what, you look back and it was. We’re not going to be making that same mistake in 2014.”

“So the pace, the ongoing activity, touching the consumer, and messaging what we’re all about. That’s going to be…

Now that Twitter (s twtr) is almost eight years old, has over 200 million users and is a multibillion-dollar company, it’s easy to forget what using the service was like in the early days — what made it seem so special, and how those features helped turn it into a global media entity. That’s why it was so fascinating to read a recent piece at The Atlantic by an anonymous British shepherd, who has become a full-on devotee of Twitter, even as he pursues a way of life that has gone unchanged for centuries.

The account known as @herdyshepherd1 is run by a sheep farmer in Britain’s Lake District, and is the antithesis of the celebrity accounts that have come to dominate Twitter in recent years — the Justin Biebers and Miley Cyruses — and that likely accounts for a large part of its charm. It consists of photos of…
