Google to buy artificial intelligence company DeepMind
After a string of robotics acquisitions, Google told Re/code today that it will buy artificial intelligence company DeepMind. Re/code said Google will pay $400 million, but TechCrunch reports it may be more.
DeepMind’s website describes the London-based company as a “cutting edge artificial intelligence company” that combines “the best techniques from machine learning and systems neuroscience to build powerful general-purpose learning algorithms.” It was co-founded by neuroscientist Demis Hassabis, who is also an accomplished chess player and game designer.
Google bought eight robot-centered companies last year, including Boston Dynamics. It also acquired Nest this month and has a history of working on robotics projects, including self-driving cars. The DeepMind buy emphasizes that Google is beefing up all aspects of its robotics portfolio, from hardware to software to artificial intelligence.
DeepMind’s website states that its first commercial applications are simulations, e-commerce and games. Re/code reports it employs at least 50 people…

After weeks of speculation about what his next venture would be, former Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein revealed on Sunday night that he is working on a new project in partnership with Vox Media, the fast-growing online media entity behind sites like SB Nation and The Verge. But Klein said the new entity will be more than just a transplanted version of his Wonkblog — instead, he plans to build what he describes as a new kind of online media platform that goes beyond just driving traffic via breaking news briefs.
In an interview with BuzzFeed (which correctly predicted weeks ago that Klein might be talking to Vox), the former Wonkblog writer said the new entity isn’t going to focus solely on politics the way his former blog did, but will be a full-fledged news outlet that covers everything from politics to sports. Klein said it will be “a completely…

Worries that You Should NOT Worry About
Worrying is a natural emotion of human kind. You must have thought the worst case scenario before taking any step or making some decision. This is not a sign of being over cautious or psychopath; it is just a defensive reflex that the nature has gifted to you. This reflex helps you to make better decision and plan your steps properly.
Be Prepared for the Worst Case Scenario
The worst outcome of anything is called worst case scenario. Such as, if you plan a picnic on seaside with friends, what can be the worst outcome? You or any of your friends gets drowned, but, will you let go the fun of spending a beautiful day with your pals on a beach? I think you will not. There are risks attached to everything, but, it does not mean that you stop living. Crossing a road can cause a road accident that…
