The latest edition of the Official Nintendo Magazine contains a wealth of information on Retro Studios forthcoming project, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It looks as though the game will offer the same level of difficulty as its predecessors, as the magazine claims that each level will take around ten minutes to complete on your first attempt. Here’s plenty of information about the upcoming game.

• The article describes some of the first parts of the game.
• It says that most levels take around 10 minutes to complete on your first attempt.
• Stage 3-3 Frantic Field is set against a hurricane, with small tornadoes, and lightning as obstacles. Eventually you reach the eye of the storm.

Steam’s annual developer conference, Steam Dev Days, doesn’t start until tomorrow, but the gaming company has already dropped a nice nugget of information ahead of the event. Monday night, the company released SteamVR, the rumored virtual reality experience designed to take advantage of the budding virtual reality gaming sector — led by the Oculus Rift.

Currently, the Steam Platform has 14 games available with VR support, including the free-to-play shooter (and Oculus Rift demo vehicle) Team Fortress 2. All games are accessible via an implemented filter in Steam’s search, and are played through the new “Big Picture + VR” mode found in the beta Steam client that comprises the bulk of SteamVR.

Sony’s(s sne) recently-announced Xperia Z1s just became available on T-Mobile(s tmus), but the company on Tuesday unveiled two other new handsets coming soon as well. Unike the high-end Z1s flagship, the 6-inch Xperia T2 Ultra and the music-focused Xperia E1 aren’t likely to see a release in the U.S. Instead, both Android(s goog) phones come in dual-SIM variants and are aimed at emerging markets.

The Xperia T2 Ultra (pictured above) looks like a solid midrange device, with a 6-inch 720p display. It’s powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm(s qcom) Snapdragon processor, though Sony doesn’t say which model. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.1-megapixel camera on the front, along with many (but not all) of the camera apps you’ll find on the Z1s. Utest has $43 million in new Series E funding it will use to expand its crowdsourced app testing services and Applause QA software for Apple(s aapl) and Android(s goog) apps. Software makers use Applause to see how users rate their mobile apps. Goldman Sachs led the round which brings total funding to more than $80 million.

Está pensando em pedir demissão? Um novo aplicativo pretende aliviar o estresse e a ansiedade de confrontar o chefe com a notícia, enviando apenas uma mensagem de texto por celular.

Apesar de o novo aplicativo para iPhone ter sido criado para ser engraçado, seus criadores esperam que as pessoas recorram a ele no momento de deixar seus empregos.

O aplicativo “Quit Your Job” (“peça demissão”) faz o usuário tomar uma série de passos para determinar por que está deixando o emprego e depois elabora uma mensagem de texto que é enviada diretamente ao chefe. O “app” é gratuito no iTunes (clique aqui para baixar).

Um incêndio deixou um morto e destruiu 40 casas na periferia de Perth, oeste da Austrália, obrigando centenas de moradores a fugir do fogo.

O incêndio, certamente causado pela queda de uma linha elétrica numa floresta desta periferia, se propagou a grande velocidade pelas ruas do bairro, com chamas de até 20 metros de altura impulsionadas por fortes ventos.

Um homem de 62 anos morreu ao se refugiar no telhado de sua casa, segundo fontes médicas.
