Strategy Analytics believes that Nintendo is ready to take Sony’s crown in the video game market in 2019. While the PlayStation 4 remains the dominant platform, the company says that Nintendo is poised to take the top spot next year . The company said that “Nintendo will sell 17.3 million Switch consoles worldwide in 2019, while Sony will sell 17.1 million PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles. Microsoft will remain in third place, selling 10.0 million Xbox One and Xbox One X devices.”

Stardew Valley has been nothing short of a major success story and many of you have been waiting for the Nintendo Switch multiplayer update. Developer Concerned Ape has shared today that he is now self publishing some of the versions of Stardew Valley. A comment from Chucklefish was published which states that the multiplayer mode is currently in submission for the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to play it.

The next game in the SEGA Ages retro series is the classic Out Run which is now available in Japan on the Nintendo Switch eShop. News was swirling around social media that The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma apparently hinted that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword could see a release on the Nintendo Switch. However, today Eurogamer received a comment from Nintendo about this and was told that there are no plans at present to release the game on the platform.

The Game Awards 2018 is taking place next month and it promises to be another good one with a number of new game reveals. Geoff Keighley has revealed that there will be over ten new video game announcements and there will also be updates on existing titles, presumably DLC. Those of you wanting to check out the creative Katamari Damacy Reroll on the Nintendo Switch should head on over to the Japanese eShop as a demo for the game is available. Siliconera points out that the game will be in English if you play it via an English account. If you don’t have a Japanese account you can wait until the 7th of December which is when the demo will be available in both North America and Europe.

Imran Khan, who is the editor of Game Informer, has revealed in their latest podcast that the next Zelda game is due sooner than we think. The news was shared when the team were discussing a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch system. Ben Hanson, who is part of the Game Informer crew, said that he predicts the next game will be a co-op Zelda game by the Triforce Heroes team, then Khan chimes in with the following:
“I was just thinking what I should say about that. The next Zelda will probably be sooner than we think…I will talk to you guys off camera about stuff.” And when asked if it is a game by the Triforce Heroes team and involves co-op, he responds, “Um, not exactly.”
