Virgin Galactic‘s SpaceShipTwo experienced a “in-flight anomaly” during a test flight today, resulting in its destruction. The two pilots that were on board are still unaccounted for.

There are scanner reports that one person is dead, according to Kern Golden Empire. One person was carried away by a medical helicopter.

SpaceShipTwo is built specifically for carrying six passengers while being flown by two pilots. It is launched into sub-orbital flight from the belly of a larger spacecraft called WhiteKnightTwo.
